Using Dream Crystals

We are such stuff
As dreams are made on; and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep
- William Shakespear, The Tempest, act 4, scene 1

For some, dreaming haphazardly is not good enough. Our forefathers, and shamans of both distant ages and today, used crystals and other dream enhancers to enrich their dreams. Crystals are natural, perfect amplifiers and transformers that will influence your physical, emotional, and mental energies when you are awake and when you are asleep. They can help you create abundance and happiness in your life, promote good health and good relationships, and more. When selecting a crystal, choose one that you are drawn to. If your crystal is not described below, find out its purpose and utilize it in the way that best supports you. Keep your crystals clear and clean by putting them outside on a moonlit night and then washing them in salt water (do not use detergents). Anoint your crystal with a scented oil - one that has pleasant, calming associations for you. See the list below for some of the more common dream crystals.

For dream work, it is best to keep your crystal beside your bed or under your pillow. You could even hold it in your hand during sleep or meditation. For best results, use the following technique.

Crystal dreaming technique:

1. Choose a crystal that relates to the concern or challenge you wish to work on.

2. Go to the place where you normally sleep or a place wher eyou meditate. make sure you feel safe and comfortable there and are not going to be disturbed.

3. Hold the crystal in your hand or place it near you.

4. With your eyes closed, go within, and center yourself by focusing on a point that is, in your mind's eye, in front of you and above eye level.

5. Expand your awareness to encompass the whole of yourself, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Imagine a bubble or cocoon all around you.

6. Ask for help with whatever your concern or challenge may be.

7. Holding the stone or concentrating upon it, and taking deep breaths in, imagine getting clarity and balance as you drop the question into the stone.

8. Let the question go, and allow yourself to begin floating back down to your awake state (if you wish to return), or deeper into your dream-time sleep.

9. When you return to the waking state you will be refreshed and unconcerned about the outcome, knowing things are working out.

10. Record your dream, including any images and symbols.

11. Now ask yourself how you feel about the conern or challenge you had. See ifyou feel differently about it, and make a note of any insights.
